Extra-curricular
At College, your main study programme is just the beginning. Our career-focused courses are designed to give you real-world experience, from getting stuck into live projects with our College Companies to gaining valuable insights on Student CPD Days and through work placements. You’ll be working towards your qualification, of course, but there’s so much more to college life than just lessons. It’s about growing as a person, building confidence, and discovering what you're capable of. Our students love that – and so did Ofsted! They rated us outstanding for personal development in our latest inspection. You may have some breaks in your timetable, whilst these are perfect opportunities for revision and completing coursework, they are also a great chance to engage in our enrichment activities. We have a wide range of clubs, sport academies and extra-curricular activities, and the best part is, the range of enrichment activities we run is influenced by our students! Each year our students let us know what they want to see on-campus, or what they would like to take part in, some students even run their own groups! View our Enrichment Timetable Trips and visits Our students are able to take some fantastic trips and visits during their time at College. Students have recently visited Auschwitz as part of an educational trip on Holocaust Memorial Day, others went on a trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in a trip fully funded by the government's Turing scheme. Other trips include one to the Big Apple, a conservation trip to Africa and a 28 day excursion to Tanzania just to name a few!
As well as the day-to-day activities that happen on campus (or the incredible trips), you are also able to get involved in our Student Union (the real people behind all of the fantastic activities on campus). Each year a team of Student Champions are nominated and selected to be the voice of the students. They meet regularly to discuss student life, what they would like to see more of and what changes they could make to enhance the experience for all students. Each Champion works with a dedicated College Manager to make sure that these things happen.
