The Duke of Edinburgh Award

A life-changing experience. A fun time with friends. An opportunity to discover new interests and talents. A tool to develop essential skills for life and work. A recognised mark of achievement; respected by employers. The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) is many things to many people, supporting generations to successfully navigate adult life. 14 to 24 year-olds can do a DofE programme at one of three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, leads to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The Student Council

The Student Council is an elected body that meets every half term. It provides students the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of college life through a democratic, organised and formal meeting structure.

Student Leadership Roles

The College has introduced a range of student leadership roles which give students the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership credentials with a range of college-specific roles, duties and responsibilities. This include Head Boy and Girl; Alliance Captains and Vice Captains; Prefect Team; Literacy and Numeracy Ambassadors; Sports Captains; Performing Arts Captains and Library Monitors.

Jack Petchey Achievement Award and Speak Out Challenge

The Achievement Awards are not solely for academic achievement – they may be used to recognise a personal triumph for someone who has faced a challenge, a young person who has pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone or it may be an opportunity to recognise the outstanding efforts of a team player.
