During my time at Ormiston Rivers, I was encouraged to aim high and strive for the University I really wanted to go to. At first, I doubted myself and was sceptical of my ability, but after countless discussions and help with my application, I pushed myself to apply for Queen Mary and it paid off! Factors such as working hard on my EPQ with the help from the Sixth Form leaders, helped me achieve the best possible grade, further helping in gaining the offer I did. Overall, the constant support and guidance helped me create the best application possible and has increased my confidence beyond A levels into my first, and now second year of my degree.

While at Ormiston Rivers Academy the teachers I had really helped me to get where I am now. Having teachers who were always there to support and push me to achieve the best I possibly could, helped me to obtain the grades I needed to attend my first choice university. Without the support of my teachers, I don’t think I’d be where I am now. The subjects that I studied while at sixth form helped me to completely decide on my career path!
Any key accomplishments you have achieved:
Due to my grades from sixth form I was offered a scholarship for my first year at university. I achieved 100% in my safe medicate exam.

The staff at Ormiston Rivers Academy had a huge impact on me getting into medical school. The staff gave a lot of support and put a lot of time into helping me further my learning to help me achieve the high grades I needed for my degree. The Sixth Form team supported me when I had to take some time out to attend work experience which is vital to be able to get on to my course and not let it impact my learning. There were also plenty of opportunities within the school which helped strengthen my application including running GCSE maths revision sessions on my own, assisting a trainee teacher with an afterschool dissection teaching session and plenty of charity work through the Interact committee. I strongly believe that attending Ormiston helped improve my application and get me to where I am now.
Any key accomplishments you have achieved:
My key accomplishments could include: Being the first student to get directly into medicine from ORA (and first in many years from St Peter’s as well but the number of years is debated between many staff), becoming a fully qualified pharmaceutical dispenser during my studies… (not sure sort of things you are looking for here so do let me know if you would like any more or any more specific to my time at the school).
