Welcome to Hinchingbrooke School
Thank you for your interest in our Sixth Form.We are proud of our students and our large, diverse Sixth Form community. Our students are drawn from a wide geographical area across Huntingdon, St Ives, St Neots and from the A1 corridor. Numbers are growing and this can be attributed to a number of factors including,-Teaching from subject specialists and A-level examiners;-A Head of Year, Student Support Officer and Tutor who are there to support students' well-being and progress throughout their Sixth Form journey-SEND support via a post-16 SEND specialist team-A wide range of sources of financial support for our students, including the 16-19 Bursary Fund, the Hinchingbrooke Foundation and the Huntingdon Freemans Trust-Dedicated Oxbridge, UCAS and employability co-ordinators-Well-resourced study spaces which are supervised during the school day and after school- A vast range of extracurricular, enrichment, leadership and volunteering opportunities-First-class sports, performing arts and IT facilities-A Grade 1 listed building as our baseOur students do very well with us. In 2023 and 2024, our Level 3 (A level and BTECs) outcomes put us in the top 25% of all Sixth Forms in terms of student progress. 75% of our leavers in 2024 went to university; 31% of whom started at a Russell Group institution. We also had a strong number of leavers who started an apprenticeship following guidance from our Sixth Form CAIEG team. Our Open Evening for entry 2025 was at the end of September 2024; however if you were unable to come and would like a tour, please get in touch at sixthform@hbk.acesmat.ukWe look forward to seeing you soon!Mrs Victoria Rix Director of Sixth Form
