Welcome to Southam College

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Sixth Form website. The Sixth Form at Southam College is a thriving and integral part of the College and the local community. It has a record of high educational achievement and specialises in a wide range of A Level and Level 3 vocational courses. We want to ensure high quality outcomes and experiences for all our Sixth Form students so we set high expectations and encourage students to challenge themselves to reach their full academic potential, gaining the best grades possible. We have carefully planned and put thought into each aspect of our work to ensure you receive excellent Sixth Form provision to meet the needs of each student. In our previous three Ofsted reports (2011, 2014 and 2021) the school has been judged as being outstanding. We believe this reflects the quality of provision students get in Southam College and is recognition of the vibrant school community. We are proud to be able to offer a wide-ranging curriculum to suit a variety of students interests and abilities. Our staff are committed to providing you with the highest-possible quality of teaching in a range of subject area. A key feature of our Sixth Form is the positive relationships which exist between staff and students. We put time into working closely with not only the students, but also with parents/carers and staff to ensure a holistic student-centred approach. Strong relationships and partnerships between our teachers, students and parents/carers is central to the way we work. Our dedicated and approachable Sixth Form Team create a caring, safe, and supportive environment for our Sixth Form students to succeed both academically and personally. We aim to get to know each student as an individual, promoting equity and excellence for all. This helps to ensure our students feel valued, respected, and heard to support them with achieving their full potential. Overall, we take pride in aiming to ensure students are well-rounded young adults who leave our Sixth Form with valuable skills and qualifications which unlock endless opportunities. We embed our whole school values of kindness, confidence and resilience throughout the Sixth Form journey, empowering students to be the best they can be. Each year we extend a warm welcome to students from outside of our school, drawn from local schools and further afield. Our warm and supportive atmosphere quickly leads to the formation of new friendships and success both in the classroom and beyond. These enable students to progress into Higher Education, employment and further training. We are committed to providing valuable support in the important transition from GCSE to A Level and also in preparing students for life beyond Southam CollegeIf you are interested in being part of a safe, focused and fulfilling environment to complete your Sixth Form studies, we would be delighted to hear from you. We hope you are able to find courses that suit your future plans and we really look forward to helping guide you through your Sixth Form pathway. We believe Southam College Sixth Form will provide you with an outstanding post-16 experience so look forward to prospective students joining us.Mrs S Campbell-Birch, Head of Sixth Form, Assistant Headteacher
