Welcome to Wolgarston High School

Choosing your institution for post 16 study is a very important one and I am delighted that you are considering to continue your education at Wolgarston Sixth Form and find out why we are ranked consistently as the top sixth form in Staffordshire. This is a wonderful community of students, parents, carers and staff who work together to ensure that our young people make excellent progress both academically and in their wider personal development. At the heart of our sixth form ethos are high expectations. We have sky high expectations of you to contribute actively to both your own learning and our community. You can expect our expert staff to provide you with excellent teaching, support and guidance. It is this winning combination of expert teaching and commitment from our learners which sees Wolgarston students consistently outperform local and national averages. Alongside your academic studies, there is a tutorial programme led by your tutor, who will guide your next steps and provide on-going support with preparing for your next destination, where that be university, apprenticeship, a gap year or employment. We have regular engagement events with a range of universities and work with external providers to provide further support with improving study skills. Our student leadership teams are led by our Head Girl, Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy. They coordinate the student ambassadors for a range of areas, such as Fundraising, Wellbeing, Community and subject and career specific areas. This provides much valued student voice and helps to shape our ever evolving sixth form to meet the needs of our current students. I look forward to supporting you during this exciting stage of your education. Leading this sixth form is a privilege and every year, I am continually impressed by our amazing young people who will shape the society of tomorrow.Miss C TurnerAssistant Headteacher – Sixth Form.c-turner@penkvalley.co.uk
