Welcome to The London Screen Academy

Whoever you are, whatever your situation, every single one of us has a dream. Maybe it's being known across the world, exploring new opportunities, moving overseas or simply making enough money to live a good life. Too many of these dreams are left unexplored. Countless people grow old without having ever taken that step towards achieving their dreams. At LSA, we tell those dreams through stories. We believe that everyone, regardless of where they come from, has a story. The type of story that can create the change the world needs. When you join our sixth form, we'll give you all the tools you need to tell those stories. Want to build a crew to make your first short film? We've got you. Want to branch out and find work experience in the industry? Again, we've got you. If you trust us to guide you, then we'll trust you to tell your story. If you want to turn your dreams into reality, then join us. This is your opportunity to join the next generation of storytellers.

University

LSA helped me unleash my creative juices, and my time there helped me develop background knowledge about the creative industries. I would highly recommend LSA to those who want to unleash their creativity.

University

LSA helped to not just set me up for higher education but also the Film and entertainment industry which can be very hard to navigate, especially with no prior experience. Not only have I gained enough experience to get into University, but I have been able to meet and network with so many inspiring, talents over my two years at LSA, many who I am still in contact with now. LSA was the best two years of my educational journey and I would recommend LSA to anyone who has a love and passion for screen and entertainment.

FAQs

What qualification do students receive from the LSA course?

Students will receive a UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Creative Practice. The qualification will also specify the pathway, for example, 'UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Creative Practice (Craft)'

What kind of young people are you looking to join LSA?

London Screen Academy was set up with the mission to diversify the screen industries. As such, we are looking for interested young people who understand the value of this mission and want to uphold it in the work they do during their time at the college and beyond. The vision of LSA is to create stories that change the world and the students who show passion and excitement for storytelling will thrive at the school.

What should I write in my application?

We are looking for passion and love of stories, filmmaking and creativity! We don't expect you to have previous experience in any form of filmmaking, editing, VFX, costume design/making, hair/makeup... we just want to know that if you are offered a place at LSA, you will soak up every opportunity that comes your way. Show us that passion and we will be sure to offer you an interview!

What are the entry requirements?

Students need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades 4-9, or other Level 2 equivalents. LSA expects applicants to have achieved grades 4-9 in English, Maths or both. If you do not achieve a Grade 4 pass at GCSE in either English or Maths, we offer intensive support in preparation for retakes. You will not be able to enrol if you do not pass both English or Maths at GCSE.

I have lots of questions, where do I find the answers?

Email us! You can always send an email with any questions you might have, just get in touch with admissions@lsa.ac.uk. If you create an account on Applicaa to start your application, you will be invited to events and online sessions that will give you lots of opportunities to ask questions and find out more.

When do admissions open and close?

Our applications are NOW OPEN! We do not offer places on a first come first serve basis, however, we highly recommend applications are completed as soon as possible. The sooner an application is completed, the more opportunities to engage and learn about LSA there are!
