Welcome to Cardinal Griffin Catholic College

Cardinal Griffin Catholic College Sixth Form is an exciting place to be for young people at this stage of their education and as they begin to make important decisions regarding their future.
All Teachers, Support Staff and the dedicated Sixth Form Team are on hand to assist any and all students with their next steps in education. At Cardinal Griffin we strive to ensure all students reach their full potential, make informed decisions regarding their futures and become Men and Women for others in their every day life.

There are a variety of courses offered at Cardinal Griffin Sixth Form including A-level and vocational qualifications that suit the uniqueness of each student and their individual goals, opening pathways to university, apprenticeships or full time employment.

We recognise that every sixth form student is different. Depending on their aspirations and ambitions, students will choose their own unique journey through our sixth form. Our job is to nurture and strengthen this, giving them the confidence to believe they can reach their goals, and provide the high quality teaching to ensure they achieve results they are capable of.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Whilst we have high expectations of all students and their academic performance, their experience at Sixth Form is not solely focused on their qualifications. Year 12 and 13 are an excellent opportunity for students to experience a transition between high school education and the independence of the working world.

Sixth Form Leadership Team

Year 13 students have the opportunity to run for Sixth Form Leadership which consists of a Head Boy and two deputies and a Head Girl and two deputies. The Sixth Form Leadership team represent the College at many events, speak on behalf of the Sixth Form and wider college community, meet with governors and the College Leadership group including the Principal on a regular basis.

Enrichment Programme

Introduced this academic year, we have a dedicated enrichment programme which is built into the Year 12 timetable. This means that all Year 12 students have 2 hours of protected time solely for the purpose of their personal development and well-being. Students have the opportunity to play sports, engage in an off-site work experience placement, participate in an extended project qualification (EPQ), or help support lower school lessons in subjects they love.

Work Experience

In Year 12, students are supported through a work experience programme whereby all students are required to participate in a work experience placement for a week.
