Assessment
Students will study ‘Democracies in Change’ with units on the transformation of Britain between 1918 and 1997, and an in depth study of the USA in the 20th Century. In addition, students will also explore the Witch craze with a focus on case studies spanning from Europe to the USA from c1580-1750. These units are assessed by three exams which include knowledge-based essays, source analysis questions and the analysis of historical interpretation. A coursework inquiry of up to 4000 words is also completed. Students form a critical view based on relevant reading on the question, and analyse, explain and evaluate the interpretations of three main historians. The current coursework question is based on the rise of Arab Nationalism in the 20th century.
