Course summary

A Level History is an engaging course of study which provides the opportunity to study the history of more than one country and the history of more than one period. Students will investigate aspects of the past in breadth, through periods or themes, and indepth. Significant individuals, societies, events, developments and issues will be explored in order to see connections, draw comparisons and form and support their own interpretation. WHAT WILL I STUDY? Students will study ‘Democracies in Change’ with units on the transformation of Britain between 1918 and 1997, and an in depth study of the USA in the 20th Century. In addition, students will also explore the Witch craze with a focus on case studies spanning from Europe to the USA from c1580-1750.
