Biology
Course summary
Over the last 30 years the field of biology has developed more than any other science, this has been due in part to our increased knowledge in the field of molecular biology. This has allowed us to manipulate DNA and genes, modifying organisms and potentially leading to the treatment of genetic diseases. The biology course has a broad base that prepares the student well for biology, medicine, and many other courses and jobs. Year 12: - Biological Molecules. - Cells. - Organisms exchange substances with their environment. - Genetic Information, variation and relationships between organisms. Year 13: - Energy Transfers in and between organisms. - Organisms respond to changes in their internal and external environments. - Genetics, populations, evolution, and ecosystems. - The control of gene expression.
