Assessment

A level History students at Bishop Ullathorne follow the OCR Syllabus. Over the two-year period you will study 3 units concurrently with a specialist teacher delivering each unit separately. The fourth unit consists of an independent personal study with teacher support and guidance provided throughout the process. The 4 units are as follows: Unit 1: British Unit - The Early Tudor period from Henry VII to Mary I (25%). Unit 2: Non British Unit - The Cold War in Asia 1945-1990 (15%). Unit 3: Historical Themes- Civil Rights in the USA 1865-1992 (40%). Unit 4: Independent Assignment (20%) Personal research leading to a 4000 word answer to a question designed by your teacher or yourself.
