Chemistry

Course summary

During the course students will study inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. Inorganic chemistry is the study of the periodic table and organic chemistry is the in-depth study of carbon compounds and mechanisms. Whereas physical chemistry is the study of how matter behaves on a molecular and atomic level and how chemical reactions occur. Students are assessed on twelve key practicals and must be able to demonstrate not only scientific but practical, mathematical and literacy skills through their studies. Students who are able learn new principles quickly and enjoy solving complex problems. As well as carrying out investigations in the lab.
