Course summary

The course prepares candidates to progress into further or higher education, to follow courses in biology, one of the other sciences or related subjects, or to enter employment where knowledge of biology would be useful. The aim of the course is to develop essential knowledge and understanding of the concepts of biology and the skills needed for the use of these in new and changing situations; and To develop an understanding of scientific methods; To become aware of advances in technology, including information technology, relevant to biology; To recognise the value and responsible use of biology in society; and To sustain and develop an enjoyment of, and interest in biology.
