Welcome to West Kirby Grammar School

Schools are often measured and compared in terms of examination success. At West Kirby Grammar School, our academic results speak for themselves, but this is only half of the story. As well as developing resilient and enterprising learners in the classroom, our focus is just as much on helping students to explore and uncover their skills and talents, to dream big and set challenging goals, to celebrate their individuality and to grow as global citizens. We have high expectations. We challenge and support in equal measure, helping students to achieve things they never thought possible. And we do all of this together, as a close-knit and caring school community.Thank you for considering West Kirby Grammar School for the next stage of your academic development and personal growth. Please get in touch if you would like further information or to find out when we will be holding our next open day events. We hold regular tours of the school throughout the year. FAQs

What are the entry requirements for the Sixth Form?

We have individual subject requirements for each of our A' levels. Check out our Sixth Form website https://sixthform.wkgs.org/our-school/joining-us for more information.

Can external students join WKGS Sixth Form?

Yes! We have students join us in Y12 from all over the North West region, both girls & boys.

How do you help external students to settle in?

We will invite external students into school for a meeting with one of the 6th Form team. Next, there is a familiarisation day at the end of June, where all of the external applicants will spend some time together, along with some of our current Year 11s. We have an induction day on the first day of the new academic year, where everyone takes part in team building activities to build relationships. We also have a team of Sixth Form Students Leaders whose role it is to help everyone settle in quickly.
